What others are saying about Making the Grade…

“I was always a student that struggled in school. All throughout high school I got a 2.8 GPA consistently every semester at school.  It wasn't because I wasn't smart. It was because I had no study habits whatsoever.  I didn't know how to study or how to approach schoolwork.  My school life lacked complete structure, and my grades showed it.  This past summer I purchased your book and your dvd after hearing your seminar, and it was simply the best decision I have made in a long time.  The text is simple to follow and very quick to read.  You give great examples and offer simple, straight-to-the- point advice.  Every word in that book has a purpose, and I never felt like you were mindlessly filling up pages with fluffed up words.  I followed just about every step in the book, mainly the four study steps (which are gold).  I found a good study zone, and I took good, clear, thorough notes.  I used to think that taking notes and studying all the time and reading all the time was overwhelming and hard; but upon following the steps, it just became second nature to me.  I would finish all of my studying, reading, and homework before dinner, which left me plenty of time to hang out with my friends.  In fact, most of my friends would have to leave because they had to do their homework.  This made me feel good. I felt proud and accomplished.  Before the semester started I wrote down a goal, like you suggested.  I wrote, "You will make the Dean’s List this semester," and up until reading your book, there was no way I could've dreamed of accomplishing this goal. But because I finally had some structure and a plan on how I would tackle my classes, I got a 4.0 and made the Dean’s List. I wasn't just passing tests, I was dominating them. Tests that other students were worried about taking and were scared of what their grade would be, I was excited to take, and I couldn't wait to get my grade back. It felt great to accomplish my goal and go from a 2 8 GPA to a 4.0.  I have never gotten all A's before, and I want to thank you for your book. I know I only have one semester under my belt, but it feels great to start off so strong, and I cannot thank you enough!”

“I am currently working toward my associate's degree of nursing at Calhoun Community College in Alabama. My family discovered this book this past summer while attending a seminar where you were speaking. We read it as a family between the summer and fall semester and it has changed everything! I have NEVER maintained an in a nursing course EVER. Also, the only nursing course that I made above a C in was the one where I was repeating a semester I failed. Now, here I am, halfway through he semester, sitting at an A!!!!! I haven't been able to implement that much, but the little that I have has obviously made a huge academic difference! The difference has not only been in my grade, however! It has also made a large impact on my personal life! I have found that I can get involved in so much more outside of school without stressing out! I have been able to spend time with my family and hang with my friends without worrying whether or not I'll get all of my school work in on time!

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!

I have lent my own copy of this book to another one of my friends and have encouraged countless others to buy and read it. I have been telling everyone that, even if you only read and implement a little bit, the little bit counts! I was even asked by one of my instructors to give advice to some of the upcoming students because I have been doing so well, and, of course, I shared about this book! I wish that I had known about this sooner! I am certain that had I known the things I learned from this book, and implemented the strategies it contains (even minimally), I would have spared myself a lot of stress and difficulties. Thank you so much!”

"My child is brilliant. Scored a 33 out of 36 on the ACT, and a 36 perfect score on the Science portion. I heard Mark speak and encouraged my child to get and read the book, which did not happen. The first semester of college, my child had a 2.7 GPA. The lowest GPA she had ever had in high school was a 4.39. I ordered Mark's book, made her read it, and NOW SHE HAS A 4.0 GPA, which is exactly where she should have been all along. It is not how intelligent you are, it is how well prepared and disciplined you can become that makes the difference in college."
