What you need is commitment to action. Commit to getting up at the same time every day (even on weekends and holidays like today). Commit to paying attention in class and taking great notes. Commit to studying your notes as soon as class gets out and then study every days’ notes every day. Commit to completing your textbook reading on time. Commit to finishing all homework assignments or working on projects every day.
This is a new year and new semester. What a great opportunity to start fresh and commit to being a student of action. Don’t just be a “gonna doer.” Simply be a doer. And with today being a holiday, what a wonderful chance to get started on your commitment to studying.
Note: Your goal is not to study all the time! You goal is to master the classroom material as quickly and effectively as possible so you can enjoy the rest of your day and get involved in college life. Build solid relationships with other students and even your teachers. Enjoy what college has to offer! College is not just a classroom education, but your classroom time should be a valuable experience for you if you do it correctly. Your professors know exactly what you need to know to be successful at the next level, so make it a priority to do well in your classes and learn the material effectively.
